Gravel Driveways Built To Last

New gravel driveways with a compacted base and a real crown — and tired driveways regraded, ditched, and drained — so yours survives mud season and the next big storm instead of washing down the hill. $15–$30 per linear foot built right.

The Service

Built, Not Spread

A driveway that lasts is a structure: geotextile fabric where soils are soft, a compacted bank-run gravel base, and a crushed-gravel surface crowned so water runs off the sides instead of carving a river down the middle. Culverts where water crosses. Ditches where it runs alongside. Skip any of that and you buy the same driveway again every few years — that's the washboard, potholed, washed-out driveway we get called to rescue.

New Builds, Rebuilds & Regrades

New driveways from cleared line to finished surface. Rebuilds where the base has failed — often just the failed section, priced honestly. Regrades that pull scattered gravel back where it belongs, re-crown it, and compact it: the annual maintenance that keeps a camp road drivable through mud season for a fraction of replacement cost.

Straight Pricing

New construction typically runs $15–$30 per linear foot for a standard 12-foot width; steep or soft ground runs higher. The driveway calculator turns your length into gravel yardage and an installed range in seconds.

Common Questions

Why does my driveway wash out every spring?

Water is running down it instead of off it. Crown the surface, ditch the uphill side, culvert the crossings — once water has somewhere better to go, your gravel stays put.

How often should a gravel driveway be regraded?

A well-built one needs a regrade-and-crown every 1–3 years depending on grade and traffic. If you're regrading every spring just to stay drivable, the base or drainage is the real problem — worth fixing once instead of renting the fix annually.

Gravel vs. paving?

Gravel costs a fraction up front, handles frost heave gracefully, and repairs cheap. Paving wins on plowing and dust. Long wooded drives here overwhelmingly favor gravel done right — and a proper gravel base is also step one if you ever pave later.
