Building lots, view cuts, and reclaimed fields cleared completely — trees down, stumps out, debris hauled, and the ground left rough-graded and ready. Typically $3,000–$8,000 per wooded acre, quoted flat after a free site walk.
Clearing is more than dropping trees. We take a lot from standing woods to usable ground: trees down and hauled or milled, stumps pulled and removed — not buried, because buried stumps rot, settle, and leave sinkholes in your lawn years later — brush chipped or hauled, and topsoil stripped, saved, and re-spread where you want it. Every job ends with ground that's actually ready: rough-graded, draining, clean.
Within 250 feet of a lake, NH's Shoreland Water Quality Protection Act governs what you can cut — the first 50 feet from the water runs on a tree-point system, and the natural woodland buffer beyond it has minimum vegetation requirements. A bad cut can mean fines and forced replanting. We plan waterfront clearing to get you the view and the yard and keep the frontage compliant.
Heavily wooded acres run $3,000–$8,000 per acre cleared complete; light brush and saplings far less. Density, terrain, and access set the number — the clearing cost estimator gives you an honest range in a minute, and a free site walk turns it into a flat quote.
Complete clearing of heavily wooded Lakes Region ground runs $3,000–$8,000/acre depending on density, terrain, and access. Brushy, lightly grown land is far less. See the full NH benchmarks.
Absolutely — selective clearing is most of what we do. Mark keepers on the site walk, and we work around them. On shoreland lots, keeping the right trees is also how you stay inside the point system.
Merchantable pine or oak can offset clearing cost — on bigger cuts we'll tell you when a log load is worth selling and put that credit in the quote. Most residential lots yield firewood and chips rather than saw logs, and we're honest about which is which.
